About the Job

The main purpose of this role is to support the Access to Education Delegate in the implementation of ICRC’s Access to Education (A2E) strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, assessment and analysis of education-related needs in conflict-affected communities and support to the field teams in implementing some concrete responses adapted to the context of the environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Collects and analyses relevant education-related data and provides regular updates through different internal reporting mechanisms
• Travels to the locations where ICRC implements education-related projects and supports teams working in those locations.
• Provides support in education projects’ identification, project writing, implementation and monitoring.
• Participates actively in internal and external meetings and produces minutes thereof when necessary
• Reports events and changes within the region that could have an impact on ICRC activities and hence provides sound elements allowing the development of educational objectives and priorities
• Monitors developments in the conflict and provides upon request analysis and statistics on education-related issues
• Knows and adheres to the A2E strategy, and is able to explain and promote the methodology both internally and with relevant interlocutors
• Maintains regular contacts with I/NGOs, educational authorities and other humanitarian actors with a focus on Education
• Ensures follow-up of Education related matters upon request of Access to Education delegate: phone calls, drafting letters, etc.
• Interprets accurately from English to Russian and Azerbaijani and vice versa during field visits and otherwise, as required.

NamİZƏDƏ TƏLƏBLƏR

Desired Profile and Skills

• University degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology or another relevant social sciences discipline
• Two to three years of working experience in Protection, child protection or Education field. Preferably in education project management for a non-governmental organization and ideally in combination with experience of working in schools
• Knowledge of the relevant national and international standards and guidelines related to the education in emergencies and child protection
• Experience in data collection and analysis, particularly different methods of needs assessments (such as interviews, FGD, surveys, observation)
• Experience in training design and delivery
• Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
• Computer proficiency
