IT Technician

Location: Head Office
Department: Business System
Reports to: IT Team Leader & Information Technology
Position: IT Technician

Summary and Purpose of Role:

- Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices
- Checking computer hardware (HDD, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Installing and configuring appropriate software and functions according to specifications

Job Role Responsibilities:

•  Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.
•  Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues.
•  Advise user on appropriate action
•  Follow standard help desk procedures
•  Assist in administration help desk software
•  Redirect problems to correct resource
•  Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
•  Inform management of recurring problems
•  Stay current with system information, changes
•  Perform related duties as required.

Position Qualification

Knowledge:

•  Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position (6 months)
•  Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
•  Excellent communication ability
•  Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
•  In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
•  Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
•  Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
•  Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)

•  Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
•  Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
•  Excellent presentation skills
•  Ability to share skills and knowledge with others
•  Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
•  Organizational skills and ability to work independently and provide status reports to the Manager of Facilities Maintenance on regular basis
